Focus of federal exploration methodical support

  • Approval of new project materials, selection of top priority projects to be included in draft annual lists and correction of planned DPBM exploration projects.
  • Drawing up documents regulating exploration (tender-based technical geological projects, geological and methodical provisions of project documents, etc.).
  • Approving current exploration materials including visits to sites as well as quality of works and recommendations for their optimization.
  • Approving materials on exploration results, and recommendations for DPBM inferred resource approval.
  • Compilation of reference and analytical information on federally funded exploration projects for Rosnedra management decisions.

Diversity of activities is reflected in a wide range of scientific and methodical exploration support in various geological conditions throughout the Russian Federation.

Methodical basics of ongoing activities are scientific and applied technologies based on the vast experience of experts who study DPBM deposit structure and their location patterns; these technologies have been successfully tested by exploration for many years.

Completed federal projects in the Ural region can illustrate expert and methodical support contributing to efficient federally funded exploration.

Exploration in Bashkir Ural region involving TsNIGRI experts resulted in discovery of pyrite-rich areas suggesting prospectivity and the potential to increase copper-zinc-pyrite ore mineral base in old mining districts of the Urals.

Within Novopetrovskaya prospective area (Makan-Podolsky ore district, Ural region), a potential deposit was localized; TsNIGRI approved its inferred copper (400,000 t), zinc (765,000 t) and gold (77 t) resources.

In Nevyansky gold mining district (Middle Urals), a major gold discovery (Vilyui area) was made by TsNIGRI experts as part of a federal program, with economically attractive free-milling ores of auriferous crust of chemical weathering occurring there; works are scientifically supported in that district.

The area’s inferred and potential gold resources approved by TsNIGRI totaled 150 t; a part of the resources (93 t) is associated with oxide ores in crusts of chemical weathering, and the other part (57 t) is associated with primary gold-quartz-sulfide ores in high-dipping linear mineralized zones.

Using their vast experience in expert and methodical support of federal exploration projects, TsNIGRI experts can offer their services for any similar projects developed by subsurface users; these services primarily include prospective deposit selection, exploration project development or approval, interim exploration results approval and recommendations for future destinations, inferred resource estimation and approval based on exploration results, etc.
