China Geological Survey delegation revisits TsNIGRI

On October 14-16, 2019, TsNIGRI hosted a regular meeting of its representatives and a delegation of the China Geological Survey’s Center for Science and Development, which revisited Russia.

Guests were welcomed by S.A. Aksenov, Deputy Head of Rosnedra. He emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation in geology and mineral resources.

A.I. Chernykh, General Director of FSBI TsNIGRI, conducted an introductory tour of the institute and the TsNIGRI geological museum for Chinese colleagues and told them about the institute activities.

The meeting included a discussion of various issues related to metallogenic studies in the border areas of Russia and China as well as forecasting and prospecting for promising diamond, precious and base metal deposits including concealed and overlapped deposits.

As part of discussing potential joint research on "Metallogenic studies in the Chinese-Russian border areas of the Far East", a number of presentations were made by Russian and Chinese experts on the key issues of these studies.

Based on the the meeting results, a sequence of joint research was agreed, from forecasting and prospecting modeling standard ore clusters as well as precious and base metal deposits of various geological and economic types to compiling a set of multi-scale metallogenic maps for the border areas of the Far East and Altai at the final stage.
