V.N. Kuts, TsNIGRI and the Great Patriotic War veteran, passes away
(25.06.1926–18.05.2020)

On May 18, 2020, V.N. Kutz, head of TsNIGRI classified materials department in 1972-1987, died at the age of 94 after a serious and long illness. For nearly 40 years, he worked in the institute and, until recently, remainned a good friend to his colleagues.

In 1944-1945, V.N. Kuts fought as part of a special purpose division and finished the war as a Senior Sergeant; he was awarded orders and medals.

In 1951, he started to work as a technician in NIGRIZoloto department of mining and drilling, then worked in NIGRIZoloto – TsNIGRI as an engineer. He was involved in field crews activities in Siberia. In 1972, he was appointed head of TsNIGRI classified materials department. In this position, he provided special information resources and their support for the institute research.

According to his colleagues, V.N. Kuts was a very careful, disciplined and polite leader. He was a good and friendly man.

For many years of conscientious work, V.N. Kuts was awarded medals and certificates of Honor by the Ministry of Geology of the USSR.
