Video report on the celebrations for the 75th V-Day anniversary

On September 14, 2020, TsNIGRI Alley of Memory laid as a sign of the greatest respect for the people who protected the lives of future generations during the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945) was officially opened.

Institute staff fought bravely throughout the war, worked selflessly in prospecting crews, mines and processing plants; their labor helped to replenish the national mineral resources and made the victory day closer. Young trees planted in front of the TsNIGRI building in the year marking the 75th war victory anniversary are a symbol of our living memory about this feat.

Representatives of all the institute departments, trade union committee, TsNIGRI veterans and management attended the grand opening of the alley. Speaking at the ceremony, A.I. Chernykh, General Director of TsNIGRI, recalled the sacrifices made in the name of victory: the war claimed the lives of millions of Soviet people, every family was affected. Many young employees fought at the front lines. In 1941, NIGRIZoloto was evacuated to the Kemerovo region. Hard wartime conditions forced geologists to strengthen the national mineral base.

N.M. Ivanov, Chairman of the trade union committee, told about our colleagues who volunteered to the front; after the war ended, they worked in TsNIGRI for their entire lives. Communication with these people was invaluable to him. He will always remember the moment from the 1970s when Z.V. Strepetova, a researcher, was watching military newsreels before a movie show and suddenly recognized herself on the screen... she started crying: a thin 19-year-old girl was regulating the movement of a tank column (in 1943-1945, she served in the 1st tank army). The war was an ordeal. B.V. Ryzhov, a senior researcher of the placer geology department, finished the war in 1945. Years later, TsNIGRI published his book, "Geologists at war"; in particular, he wrote that "war is the most terrible, senseless and unnatural act of humanity, since it is the mass murder of people and the destruction of everything valuable created by their labor. But we defended ourselves, our homeland, and rightfully considered the war fair on our part."

A.I. Grigorieva, the last TsNIGRI participant in the war and a veteran of TsNIGRI, asked V.O. Konyshev, Chairman of TsNIGRI Council of veterans, to give her parting words to her colleagues, in fact, a blessing to new generations.

The park, which stretches around the TsNIGRI building, was laid out in 1985, the year marking the 40th V-Day anniversary. In commemoration of the 75th anniversary, 15 more trees (according to the number of departments) were added such as wild cherry, Rowan and silver maple.

It shows the names of employees who fought in the war and sacrificed their lives in the name of victory. A.I. Chernykh said that the victory day, the memory of the people's feat, is a milestone that unites all of us.
